A Chinese robber threatened to blow up a restaurant with sausages disguised as explosives.
The man ate a meal at the restaurant in Benxi, Heilongjang, before grabbing the owner's daughter, held a knife to her neck and demanded money from the till.
The owner and other diners managed to overpower the man, and called police.
However, when officers arrived, he revealed flashed the 'explosives' strapped to his body.
Bomb disposal experts were called to the scene, but fell about laughing as soon as they arrived.
A police source said: "When they experts arrived, they laughed out loud as they quickly realised the explosives were actually sausages."
