The remaining members of Boyzone have had tattoos done in a tribute to bandmate Stephen Gately whose funeral will take place in Dublin tomorrow.
The tattoos were spotted as the band delivered a moving eulogy to Stephen at a press conference in Majorca. They band are in Spain for the repatriation of their bandmate’s body back to Ireland.
During a statement in which Keating thanked the public for their messages of support and spoke of how the band’ ‘world had changed forever’ after the death of their ‘friend’ and ‘brother’ a tattoo bearing the numbers 76 09 was visible beneath the singer’s T-shirt.
The numbers are reported to correspond to the dates of Stephen’s birth and death and all four members are said to have had a similar tattoo done. ‘The tattoos were done as a mark of respect, ‘’ a source said.
Commenting on the future of the band at the press conference Keating csaid that it was "too hard to think about" as nothing would "ever be the same without our dearest friend".
Ronan , Keith , Mikey and Shane will spend the night with Stephen’s body in Dublin’s St Laurence O’ Toole church. According to the band’s manager Louis Walsh, Stephen’s mother didn’t want him to be alone in the dark and the band offered to sit with the body.
