Kate Middleton is often dubbed the Queen of style, with the darling Duchess wowing us all with her classic, elegant looks.
But it’s not an easy task, it seems, after it emerged the Duchess of Cambridge has to change up to five times a day to keep in line with Royal protocol.
Most of us face a bit of a wardrobe dilemma when we’re planning special days or nights out – so just imagine how Duchess Kate must feel, with the world’s eyes on her as she attends State dinners, fundraising events, visits to charities and other Royal engagements.
According to one source said to be close to the couple, who spoke to Vanity Fair, brunette beauty Kate feels a bit “stressed” by the fact that she has to always looked groomed to perfection – although you’d never know, with the cool-as-a-cucumber Duchess failing to flap under even the toughest of conditions.
Kate’s many outings during the Olympic Games have proved she’s got a real flair for fashion, with the Duchess’s mix of smart and causal outfits winning praise all round.
Even Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington found her attention distracted temporarily from the Games, as she admired the 30-year-old’s summery look. The Royal was sporting a pair of £245 navy blue wedges from Russell & Bromley, which perfectly complemented her nautical look, which included a Breton striped white and blue top and navy blue Smythe jacket.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Olympic medallist Rebecca said: “I just love her shoes. They're much nicer than the sports gear we're wearing this week.”
Kate also managed to look stunning when dressed down in Team GB's official kit of a polo shirt and zipper..
She has also won praise in the past for her ability to pull off outfits in any colour, style and shape, from the scarlet red dress and hat she wore to the Diamond Jubilee Thames River Pageant in June, to the striking lace Alexander McQueen gown she married Prince William in.
And while some might expect Kate to spend a fortune in designer outfits, the Duchess has proved she has a real flair for mixing high street pieces with more exclusive brands.
One dress she wore from Zara, costing just £69.99, sold out in less than one hour, after Kate wore it to a charity concert. Other high street staples in her Royal closet include her trusty nude L.K. Bennett heels.
