Kate Middleton stuns and delights U.S. Olympic gymnasts

Kate Middleton has thrown herself into her role as an official Olympic Ambassador, attending numerous events and getting caught up in the spirit of the Games, cheering on Team GB.

She has also been meeting and greeting competitors from all over the world and on Sunday, American gymnasts Tweeted about the exciting moment they got to chat to the darling Duchess.

Aly Raisman wrote: “Just met princess Kate with @jordyn_wieber @kyla_ross96 & @gabrielledoug she is beautiful & so nice! I told her I loved her style lol :).”

Clearly delighted and honoured to have spoken to the ‘perfect princess’, Jordyn Wieber also Tweeted: “Can’t believe I just met Princess Kate Middleton! She was in the crowd at the competition and she stood up to talk to us! #honored.”

She later added: "Yesterday we met the Duchess, Kate Middleton! She was so nice and she told us she loved our leotards!"

Kate laughed and joked with the girls, congratulating the gold medal-winning team.

And while the style queen has been proudly sporting Team GB’s official range, including fitted navy blue shirts, zippers and a smart white polo top, she has added fashionable touches, teaming the sportswear with skinny jeans and a pair of navy wedges, which Olympic bronze medallist swimmer Rebecca Adlington was particularly taken with.

The cork navy blue wedges cost £245 from high street shop Russell & Bromley and after meeting Kate when she visited the British Olympic team's official residence, Rebecca told the Daily Mail: “I just love her shoes. They're much nicer than the sports gear we're wearing this week.”

As Team GB strives towards winning those final few medals to add to the already impressive tally, and the closing ceremony looms, Kate and her husband Prince William and brother-in-law Prince Harry, just like the rest of the nation, are surely going to miss the buzz of London 2012.
