Kate Middleton proved she was Queen of the waves today as the stunning Duchess attended a sailing event in Weymouth for the Olympic Games.

Flying solo without her husband Prince William - who has attended most of the Games’ events alongside Kate - the Duchess of Cambridge looked totally at ease as she enjoyed the company of Sir Steve Redgrave, Princess Anne, and her husband Tim Laurence.

That was, of course, when the Duchess wasn’t entirely entranced by the action on the water, as she whooped and cheered on those taking part.

As an official Olympics ambassador and keen sports lover, this is just Kate’s latest outing at the Games, and while at the sailing event she took the chance to meet some of the competitors including Team GB's Ben Ainslie, who won his fourth gold Olympic medal.

The Royals also watched on as Dublin-born sailor Annalise Murphy narrowly missed out on winning a medal during the tense the Laser Radial medal race.

So far Kate has attended the gymnastics, the hockey, the tennis and equestrian events. Later this week she's expected to attend another swimming event as well as the closing ceremony on August 12, which is expected to be one hell of a party.

Once again the 30-year-old beauty managed to look effortlessly chic – despite the fact that she was dressed down in sports gear with her hair scraped back into a ponytail.

But the Duchess didn’t go entirely without her designer accessories, adding a splash of glamour with a pair of Givenchy sunglasses, which she used to shield her eyes. She is Royalty, after all!
