Kate Middleton scored top points yesterday when she attended a sports event wearing a £35 Hobbs dress. Marking the start of the Olympic celebrations at Bacon’s College in Greewich, Kate proved budget can still equal beauty.
The Duchess was on winning form in the grey and white belted dress, which she teamed with her trusted beige wedges. Bought from the popular high street store Hobbs, the 50’s silhouette looked sensational on Kate, even when she joined in with some of the sporting fun.
This cute day dress, now in its second season, is a Hobbs favourite with the new grey and white cheque edition completely selling out. The 'Duchess effect' strikes again.
This is not the first time Kate has proved she is queen of the high street; Reiss, Zara and Whistles are amongst the stores favoured by the 30-year-old.
Teaming high street with designer is all in a days work for Kate, who has also been praised for recycling her looks. The emerald green Catherine Walker dress she wore during her US tour with Prince William was spotted again at Zara Philips’ Wedding. Very cunning Kate!
It was not only Kate’s style that impressed at yesterday’s charity event. The Duke and Duchess joined in on the pitch, with Kate revealing her talent for football. Dribbling in heels must gain her some serious respect.
Taking the summer in her stride the Duchess is gearing up for the Olympics. With the country’s focus firmly on the sporting stars, we wonder what Kate, our fashion flame will be wearing to support Team GB in her role as an official Olympic Ambassador.
