Kate Middleton becomes culinary queen much to Prince William’s delight

When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge aren’t attending glamorous events or charitable evenings, they like nothing better than stepping away from the limelight and enjoying some quiet nights in.

Kate has become quite the domestic goddess since moving to Anglesey with Wills and she loves cooking up a storm for her beloved husband when he returns from his RAF duties.

Far from the exquisite posh nosh the Royal couple are used to tucking into when they’re out and about, Kate and Wills much prefer home-cooked hearty dinners, with cottage pie and sticky toffee pudding their particular favourites (ours too).

An insider told Ok! magazine: “They’re actually surprisingly normal and down-to-earth when the cameras are off.”

The source continued: “Catherine has been a great influence on William in that way.

“She’s introduced him to a simpler, easier way of life and he loves it. They like to watch movies, sleep in and have nice meals at home.”

And it seems the Queen, who is extremely fond of Kate, or Catherine as she is officially known, approves of the couple’s lifestyle choice, as she has been encouraging the Duchess to expand her cooking repertoire by giving her a copy of Jekka’s Herb Cookbook.

How does Kate manage to stay in shape after indulging in all those tasty treats?

She and Wills work off the delicious dishes by going for long walks with their adorable pup Lupo, who is treated to beach front wanders and even attends the polo with his pooch mad owners.

The Duke and Duchess won’t be cooking tonight as they are Scotland bound to take part in the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Tomorrow will see them attend a special service at Edinburgh’s St Giles’ Cathedral, where William will be formally installed as a Royal Knight of the Thistle.

Wonder if Kate can turn her hand to rustling up haggis, neeps and tatties?
