The Queen, Kate Middleton and other members of the Royal Family got the thumbs-up for the outfits they chose for today’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Arriving for a service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral today, the Queen was resplendent in a light-coloured fine silk tulle dress believed to be designed by Angela Kelly, which was embroidered with tiny mint green star-shaped flowers, embellished with silver thread.
Her Majesty accessorised this with a matching coat and hat, which was draped in mint green chiffon and Swarovski crystals, and wore beautiful pearl drop earrings and pearl necklace, with a brooch on the lapel. She wore black shoes and carried a black handbag.
Her Majesty has been forced to attend today’s celebrations without her beloved husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, after fell ill with a bladder infection last night as was admitted to hospital. He remains under observation today and is said to be very upset at missing the Jubilee events.
Kate Middleton proved she is the Queen of style once again, wearing an elegant cream lace Alexander McQueen dress with an oyster-coloured sash.
The long-sleeved dress was accessorised with Kate’s trusty nude heels, a hat by Jane Taylor, and simple but striking pearl drop earrings. Her hair was styled in a half-up do, and loosely curled.
Kate is a big fan of Alexander McQueen, choosing a gown designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, for her wedding to Prince William last April.
The Duchess of Cambridge was accompanied by the prince, who chose to wear a morning suit for the service at St Paul’s Cathedral.
Meanwhile Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, looked elegant in a bronze-gold dress and matching coat, while Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie – famous for their fashion faux-pas in the past - also looked stylish.
Beatrice opted for a Kinder white and blue coat dress with tan-coloured Gina stilettos, with a white and blue hat by Stephen Jones, and tan bag by Lemeresca.
Eugenie wore a purple dress by Suzannah, accessorised with a bag by Loro Piano, nude stilettos also by Gina, and hat by Stephen Jones.
