Kate Middleton’s sister Pippa over the moon at royal baby news

Kate Middleton’s little sister Pippa is said to be over the moon at the duchess’ baby news, and can’t wait to get stuck into her role as a loving aunty.

The party planner, 29, is extremely close to her sister with the pair often spotted attending events together and catching up for a good girly gossip.

So it’s not surprising to hear that after being told of Duchess Kate and Prince William’s happy news, Pippa is desperate to do everything she can to be involved during this exciting time in their lives.

"She will absolutely play a role," a friend said to be close to the Middleton family told Us Weekly. The insider added: “Pippa and Kate share everything."

And Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael, are also believed to be jumping for joys at the news that their first grandchild is on the way.

According to the source, the couple have even started dreaming about spending their summer holidays with William and Kate’s first child.

“William loves being at Kate's parents' house for the weekend," they said. "I can imagine them spending summer visits at their grandmother and grandfather's."

The announcement that the duchess is pregnant is the news that royal watchers have been waiting for, ever since the royal wedding in April 2011.

The confirmation comes after months of speculation that Kate was indeed with child, with the duchess spotted shunning alcohol in favour of water at events, and sporting a slightly fuller figure.

And friends of the couple’s think the pair will make the perfect parents. One person, said to be a ‘close friend’ of Kate’s, told the magazine: “Kate will be a firm but fair mother.”

The source continued: “Kate will let her children have fun and freedom, but she will also make sure they do what is best for them.”

The duchess, who is less than 12 weeks pregnant, is currently receiving treatment in hospital for acute morning sickness, which can leave mothers-to-be dehydrated and weak. We're keeping our fingers crossed that Kate will be feeling better and back on her feet soon.
