Pippa Middleton showed off her tan in a beautiful, elegant ivory gown at her big sister’s wedding to Prince William.
The chief bridesmaid broke with tradition and opted for the same colour of dress as Kate – this is rarely done for fear of upstaging the bride.
In this case however, Pippa’s design merely complemented Kate’s lace, vintage inspired gown, designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.
Pippa’s dress was also designed and created by Burton and was made of heavy, ivory satin-based crepe, with a cowl front and the same button detail and lace trims as the bride’s gown.
She led the younger bridesmaids up the aisle as Lady Louise Windsor, 7, the Hon. Margarita Armstrong-Jones, 8, Eliza Lopes, 3 and Grace van Cutsem, 3, wore beautiful dresses designed by childrenswear designer Nicki Macfarlane.
The little gowns were created using the same fabric as Kate’s dress, finished with a pale gold, wild silk sash and bow.
