It was a show that was minus Simon, Amanda and Piers – as well as undoubtedly the biggest star from the programme so far, Susan Boyle – but the Britain’s Got Talent Live Tour still packed a punch as it rolled into Glasgow last night.

Although missing most of the surprise and anticipation that makes the TV show such a big hit, the concert, featuring all10 finalists, still proved to be big draw for fans who were eager to see their idols perform in person.

Presented by comedian Paddy McGuiness, well known from his time on Phoenix Nights, the audience were kept entertained by his Bolton humour in between performances that ranged from the hilarious to spectacular.

Perhaps receiving the biggest cheer from the audience was Scottish singer, 81-year-old great gran Janey Cutler, who got a standing ovation after stunning the crowd with a rousing rendition of the Edith Piaf hit No Regrets.

The little lady with a big voice belted out the classic, which she sang for her audition for BGT, and proved to be a true class act on the night, despite initial fears that she might not be strong enough join the others on tour.

The other big highlight of the night came from Spellbound, who amazed the Glasgow crowed with two eye-popping acrobatic routines. The gymnastics troupe won this year’s series of BGT, and their gravity-defying moves seemed even more spectacular live, proving they are very much worthy champions.

Connected thrilled the largely-tween crowd which had come out en masse to see their idols. The five-piece, made up of boys between the ages of 12 and 15, thrilled with the JLS hit Everybody in Love, before returning for a later performance of Take That’s Never Forget.

And for those whose taste is a little more refined, there were various classical performances from singing accountant Christopher Stone, and teen Liam McNally, who both managed to send chills down the spine with their spine-tingling vocals; particularly when they teamed up on a haunting rendition of Time To Say Goodbye.

The ladies were catered for by the lovely Tobias Mead, who body-popped his way through not one but two dance routines, teaming up with drummer Kieran Gaffney for the second, during which he raised the temperature when he ripped off his shirt to show off a muscular frame.

And adorable dog act Tina and Chandi performed a well-choreographed dance to the Frank Sinatra hit Me and My Shadow, while Twist and Pulse danced raised a smile with their much-loved famous routine featuring Cheeky Girls dance moves.

Impressionist Paul Burling also had the audience in stitches with his cartoon and Harry Hill impersonations, and kept everyone entertained while host McGuiness ran off to get changed into his gym gear, to join in with a predictable but nevertheless funny joke routine with a member of Spellbound.

It might have been seen before, but for the crowd that turned out on Thursday night these ten acts will never become tiresome.
