The Scottish comedienne has just been on travels to the Pacific Rim, but thankfully is back home and well.

Janey explained why, as a barwoman in a previous life, the one thing she’s good at is “making drunk men shut up”.

With a whole lot of stories, how does she decide which ones she’s going to tell on stage? Janey replied: “Just by feeling the room I suppose, it’s going back to that pub thing. You feel the atmosphere, you sense what will work.

“Back then I knew which songs would make everybody happy, and which ones would make everyone annoyed, and which ones would divide the room, and it’s very much the same with comedy. You get a feel for what the people want in the room, and you go with it.”

She also told us about the radio show, a pilot that she’s been commissioned to do by Radio 4. Janey also explained how people share stories with her after the show, and discussed how her performance style changed to ‘confessional comedy’ – thanks to some advice by Stewart Lee.
