We Will Rock You: Brian May to take to Glasgow stage

Queen legend Brian May will quite literally rock the audience tonight, when he takes to the stage to perform in the musical We Will Rock You.

The guitarist is being tipped to make an appearance in the Ben Elton musical, a show based on the music of Queen, which is currently being staged at Glasgow’s King’s Theatre

And according to sources he may even be joined by fellow Queen drummer Roger Taylor too, giving the audience a real treat for one night only.

A spokesperson for the theatre told the Evening Times: “We are very excited to welcome Queen’s Brian May.

“It will be cause for huge celebration when he takes to the stage – for one night only – along with the cast; a very rare and poignant occasion and one that will be remembered by everyone who will be here.”

Scottish singing and acting sensation Jenny Douglas, who wowed on the BBC show Over the Rainbow, is starring as Meat in We Will Rock You alongside former Hear’Say singer star Noel Sullivan, who plays the part of Gallileo Figaro.

Jonathan Wilkes, ex-Brookside actor Leon Lopez, and Corrie and EastEnders star Ian Reddington in the cast.

We Will Rock You runs at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow until February 19, before touring to His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen from June 7–July 2, then the Edinburgh Playhouse from November 19 2011–7 January 2012.
