T in the Park 2012 weather forecast: Sean Batty says it will be wet wet wet

Twitter and Facebook were awash with rumours that T in the Park was going to be cancelled last night, but despite heavy rain on the horizon, STV weather man Sean Batty has spoken to the T team and they categorically insist the festival will go ahead. Phew.

So if you are heading to Balado this Friday July 6, what can you expect?

Sean says rain. And lots of it.

Our weather wonder has warned of torrential downpours, with Friday bringing the worst of the weather.

You will definitely need your poncho and wellies… and perhaps a snorkel.

But it’s not all bad. Sean says that despite the downpours, it will be muggy so at least you won’t be freezing as you sing along to Snow Patrol.

Saturday - well, at this stage, it doesn’t look much better but there is the possibility of some brighter spells. Hurrah!

Sunday – any let up? Sadly not, but we’re sure you won’t let the weather rain on your parade as Kasabian brings the weekend of magical musical moments to a close.

So in short, ditch your fancy festival fashions and protect yourself from the elements this weekend. It’s going to be wet but wonderful.

And remember, the weather changes all the time in our beloved Scotland so Sean will be on hand each day at stv.tv/tinthepark to bring you the latest updates. You can also watch our for his Twitter update @SeanBattySTV.

Have a fantastic time festival peeps.
