Dutch DJ and Producer Hardwell caught up with Justin Tait on his recent trip to Coloursfest and revealed his love for the UK, his best memories of Scotland and his new single…..

How much do you love playing in Scotland?
Yeah I love playing for Colours. Every single time I do it is great as the crowd here in Scotland is crazy, I always really look forward to it.

What is your normal routine for a Scottish gig?
It’s usually a closing set so I try to play a lot of big songs and a lot of my solo Hardwell stuff. I’m always working hard on a lot of new tracks in the studio so I definitely try to get that out there.

Do you think events such as Coloursfest are important for the clubbing scene in Scotland?
Big events are really important as everyone benefits from them. It’s good for dance music and for the clubs, especially in the UK as everyone loves the music.

What’s your favourite memory of playing in Scotland?
It has to be my debut show with Tiesto in Edinburgh, it was a huge. I had a good time and I was really blown away by the crowd. Yeah that and my stage dive at the Arches, I love the crowd over here.

Any Ibiza plans?
Yeah, I just played the opening two weeks ago with Tiesto at Pacha. I’ve to do two shows at Amnesia and even more coming up. It is a magical experience, there are so many clubs.

What are you up to in the studio?
I’ve just finished a new track myself called How We Do and I’m also working on a new track at the moment with Tiesto.

Are there any rising stars on the scene you would like to work with?
There are a lot of young and exciting DJ’s and producers in Holland at the moment. They are all making good tracks so there are loads that you need to keep an eye on.

Thanks Hardwell; we look forward to seeing you again soon!
