You’ve heard of the Red Hot Chili Peppers but have you heard of the Red Hot Chilli Pipers?

If not, why not? You soon will.

Sir Paul McCartney and Ewan McGregor are amongst their celebrity fans and the good folks of Brittany have caught on the craze and go wild for the kilt swinging bagpipe rockers.

With fans around the world, what’s next in the pipers bid for world domination?

In this interview, we meet the lovely lads who tell us they are heading to Belgium, America and Germany, where they’ll appear on the German version of Jonathon Ross none the less. Let’s hope he’s not quite as potty mouthed!

The band tell us they are also looking forward to playing at the Homecoming gig and the Cowal games and how they feel it is a real honour to take part in such events.

So, what do traditional pipers make of the Chilli’s jock rock style of playing?

Piper Stuart Cassells jokes with a cheeky grin: “slightly frowned upon is probably a nice answer.” He added on the whole they are very supportive but that’s there one or two jealous ones out there.

And what’s not to be jealous of? The Chilli’s have broadened the appeal of piping and introduced it too a new breed of listeners, picking up fans around the world on the way.

Their shows are an energetic, fun filled celebration of Scottish music with a modern twist on some classic favourites. Go along to one if you get the chance, we defy you not to dance!
