After a fantastic sunny day at Glasgow Green, Field Marshall Montgomery from Northern Ireland were crowned World champions after their performance wowed the judges.
Pipe Bands from across the globe descended upon Glasgow Green in an attempt to become World Pipe Band Champions 2012, with a number of different grades plus juvenile and novice juvenile for younger pipers.
As ever the competition was truly global with over 200 bands and 8000 pipers and drummers travelling from as far afield as Canada, Denmark and USA.
Northern Ireland’s Field Marshall Montgomery were looking to make it a double after their success last year, when they swept the board at the major piping competitions.
Today's result marks the second time in as many years that Field Marshall Montgomery walk away with the top prize at Glasgow Green.
