Adele has reportedly already begun working on her third studio album, but may delay its release.
The singer is working with US composer Dan Wilson, who she worked with on Someone Like You, for the follow up to her hugely successful 21.
However, she may not release the album for a few years after recently announcing she is pregnant with her first baby.
A source told Daily Star: "Adele loves performing but she doesn't feel comfortable being such a high-profile celebrity.
"It all got a bit much for her last year and she wants to take a bit of time out of the fame game to be a normal mum.
"The last thing she wants is for her kid to become a celebrity baby or media commodity. Being a good mum is a lot more important to her than selling records and she's made it clear her priorities have changed now she's pregnant."
They added: "She doesn't want to be travelling the world touring or promoting when she can be at home.
"Although she's already started masterminding the third album, the chances of fans getting to hear it any time soon are slim to non-existent."
Discussing the album, Wilson explained: "We've exchanged a couple of emails about the next album. I am concentrating on writing as many songs as I can for her. I am building some tracks."
Asked if Adele was going to tour, he added: "She doesn't need to tour. You don't have to when you're that successful."
