An up-and-coming Scottish singer who travelled to LA to further her career was rewarded with the opportunity of a lifetime – to sing for Larry King.

Scosha, a singer songwriter from East Kilbride, came face to face with the veteran American television and radio host at Musexpo, an annual international music and media conference.

The plucky 25-year-old stood up and asked Larry – and the panel – how she would make it in the industry.

He simply advised her to sing and Scosha burst into a rendition of her song, I’m OK, in front of the packed room of agents, executives and musicians.

Scosha, who worked two jobs to pay for her ticket to LA, said: “I went to LA by myself to Musexpo so I could introduce myself to the biggest people in the music industry and give out my CD.

“But if people haven’t heard you sing, it is really hard to get them excited about you as an artist. Everybody there was a somebody. I know I’m Scosha, but no-one there did.

“When I found out that Larry King was taking questions at the session he was moderating, I told myself that I had to stand up and ask a question. I had no idea he was going to ask me to sing.

“Larry King listened to what I said and knew that I needed a break. He said I was terrific and when I sat down he winked at me.

“It was so out of the blue – someone was definitely looking out for me. Larry King is a smart man and a very good man. I never got the answer to my question but I don’t even care.”

Afterwards in the lobby, Scosha was mobbed by people wanting to know her story and interest in the singer has skyrocketed following the expo.

Footage of the life changing moment has been posted on YouTube and Larry King even retweeted Scosha’s message of thanks. Watch the video here.

Following her experience in LA, Scosha is urging Scotland to get behind her as the country’s next big female artist.

She said: “Going to LA just gave me more fire in my belly. I believe I’ll make it.

“The last big act to come out of Scotland was Sharleen Spiteri in Texas. I’m here now, trying my hardest and working my butt off to make it.

“I know in the next year I’ll have a single and an album. I’ve just got a feeling about this year – it's all coming together.”

Scosha is set to perform her song, I'm OK, at the Scottish New Music Awards in September. The song has been nominated for pop record of the year at the awards.
