Gary Barlow and Nicola Roberts congratulate Cheryl Cole

Cheryl Cole had a lot to smile about when she woke up this morning.

Call My Name, the first single from her third album, went straight in at number one in the UK charts last night, becoming the fastest selling single of 2012.

Thousands of fans flocked to Twitter to congratulate the Geordie lovely on her success and amongst the messages were a few extra special Tweets from her famous friends.

Gary Barlow, who Cheryl performed a duet with at the Diamond Jubilee concert, wrote: “Massive congrats on the number 1 @CherylCole.”

Despite knocking his Jubilee song, Sing, off the top spot, the pair are closer than ever and Cheryl replied: “Thank you Mr. OBE. Proud of you ;)”

The 28-year-old’s fellow Girls Aloud stars also celebrated her success, with Nicola Roberts Tweeting: “ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!!! MAZINGGGGGGG!!!!,” and Kimberley Walsh adding: “Chezza is number 1 baby yeah! #proud”

Rochelle Wiseman from The Saturdays wrote: “Congrats to @CherylCole for another BIG number 1 #saymynamebaby xx,” while Scottish musician Calvin Harris, who wrote and produced the track, was also celebrating, as he simply Tweeted: “congratuations!!! :D”

The album, A Million Lights, is also set for the top, after going on sale at midnight last night.

Cheryl Tweeted: “You've done it to me again.. I woke up to A Million Lights @ 1 on itunes.. You lot are killing me !! Thank you sooo much #havingamoment.”
