After wowing crowds at massive US music festival Coachella, increasingly acclaimed Scottish indie band We Were Promised Jetpacks are embarking on a tour of their home country this month.
The Scottish indie-rock group were last month on the line-up for the famous festival alongside Radiohead, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg.
Said to match the live power of fellow Scots Mogwai, with the pop sensibilities of Foals or Bloc Party, it’s been an extremely busy period for WWPJ since they released second album In the Pit of the Stomach in October, which saw them receive several strong reviews.
Their live shows in support of In the Pit of the Stomach kicked off in Europe back in September with label-mates The Twilight Sad and Mazes.
A second UK leg and extensive European and US dates took them right through into February.
The group also won Best Live Act at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards at the beginning of March, before Coachella introduced them to a further audience.
Now the WWPJ are playing the following dates.
- 23 May – Dundee Doghouse
- 24 May – Aberdeen Lemon Tree
- 25 May – Inverness Ironworks
- 26 May – Dunfermline PJ Molloys
- 31 May – Stirling Tolbooth
- 01 June – Coatbridge Soundwave Studios
We Were Promised Jetpacks are Adam Thompson (Guitar/Vocals), Michael Palmer (Guitar), Sean Smith (Bass) and Darren Lackie (Drums). For more information about tickets visit wewerepromisedjetpacks.com.
