Oh there’s nothing like jumping on a bandwagon is there?

Just as we are looking forward to digging out our pink Stetsons for the Steps tour, another poptastic ‘blast from the past’ act has reformed – step forward S Club 7.

We all know there ‘ain’t no party like an S Club party’ (well those of us of a certain age do) and it looks like Hannah Spearritt, Paul Cattermole, Jo O'Meara, Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee and Bradley McIntosh are about to take that party back on the road with a summer tour.

According to reports, the sexy 7 think now is the perfect time to bring back good old British pop, to coincide with the Olympics and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

A source told The Mirror: "The guys have been inundated with approaches and offers over the past three years, but always said no.

"But following a series of talks and meetings, they decided to go for it. What with the Olympics coming up and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee concert, there's a real British feel-good factor at the moment."

The insider added: "The band figured it was a case of now or never. And if the gigs go well there is the option to release a new album, plus a Greatest Hits.

"Everyone is really excited - and frantically getting back in shape".

S Club 7 were quite the stars in the late nineties / early noughties, enjoying four UK number one singles, a number one album and over 17 million record sales worldwide.

Another group said to be considering reforming is Atomic Kitten. The girl group, which featured Kerry Katona, is reportedly in talks about making a documentary series about their second shot at the charts.

A source told Broadcast: “We have had lots of approaches from artists and broadcasters about recreating the Steps documentary. We're only in discussion stages at the moment."
