Adele fans will no doubt be devastated to hear that the British songstress is planning to take a five-year break from her hugely successful music career.

The Someone Like You singer has revealed that she wants to take some time out so she can focus on her relationship with new man Simon Konecki, so she can be “in love and be happy”.

The 23-year-old has had amazing success in the industry in the last year, and most recently won a mammoth six gongs at the Grammy Awards at the weekend.

And it seems that now she’s conquered success in her professional career, the singer wants to turn her attention to her personal life.

Speaking to Vogue magazine, Adele said: “I am f***ing off for four or five years. If I am constantly working, my relationships fail.

“So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy.

“And then I don't know what I'll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch.”

Booo! We hope Adele if really is going to take a break from music it isn't five years long!

Adele was forced to cancel all her remaining concerts in 2011 at the end of last year after suffering a haemorrhage of the vocal chords. She underwent successful surgery, and surgeons predicted the star would make a full recovery.

The singer made her triumphant comeback at the Grammys on Sunday, and was met with huge applause from the audience. She called 2011 “the most life-changing year” for her.
