Spice rack: The girls want to get back on stage

A Spice Girl reunion may well be in the pipeline, if new rumours and hints are to be believed. The fivesome are said to be “talking” and haven’t ruled out an appearance this summer.

A source close to the girls told E!Magazine that “there is a sense of unfinished business”.

The band – Posh, Scary, Baby, Sporty and Ginger – cut short their 2008 reunion tour because of “family and personal commitments”.

And, to be fair, the girls now have 11 children between them.

It’s possible that news of Gary Barlow – from their contemporaries Take That – organising a concert for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee might have stirred them into action.

There are also rumours that they might be called upon to perform during this summer’s Olympic games opening ceremony.

The insider added: “They're all talking. There is an ongoing discussion among the girls."

But the girls aren’t just thinking about getting back into their sequins for money or gratification, they reckon they can use their girl power to do some good.

“The whole idea of girl power and using that to fight against bullying and teen suicide is something that is being discussed," the source added.

Mel B, who seems to be leading the charge, said on Twitter: “will be back in uk next month to see my spice girls, can"t wait, missed them all sooooooo much!!!!! girlpower all the way babay!!!”

And speaking on an Australian radio show she said: “Ooh, I think the Queen's Jubilee concert is the event I'd be looking at more closely for that to happen.”

Meanwhile, Geri – while launching a Union Jack collection for Next – hinted: “My pop career is about to come back. It's my first love.”

SPICE WITH THAT?

i loved watching the spice girls and was disappointed when they split..i feel they will have their original followers if they return but youngsters now appear to move on to other artists at a quicker pace than they used to so as they are the main ones going to concerts etc i do not think it will work long term..a one off special series could probably be cost effective...
