Indie-rockers Glasvegas have announced their first shows of 2012, including an intimate date back in their home town.
The group play at Glasgow’s Classic Grand on 5th April, with tickets going on sale tomorrow morning at 9am.
They are also playing two other dates on the small tour at London Garage (3rd April) and Liverpool Academy 2 (4th April).
Glasvegas said on their website: “We are pleased to announce our first UK dates of 2012 with three shows scheduled for London, Liverpool and our home town of Glasgow for early April. The shows come almost exactly a year from the release of Euphoric Heartbreak.
“After touring the world in 2011 we started writing and demoing for the next album and are currently working on new songs. We’ll be playing some of the new stuff during our tour.”
The quartet were dropped by major record label Columbia last year, though guitarist Rab Allan soon afterwards declared that they were “definitely not splitting up” – and he appears to have kept good to his word.
He said: “People want to sign us – and people have come in about signing us – but we don’t really want to do anything until we need to.
“There's no need for us to have a label right now, James [Allan] is writing the third album and once it’s demoed and it’s ready then we'll probably sign, but the people who want to sign us will still be there in four months time.”
Glasvegas released Euphoria Heartbreak in early 2011, but it failed to repeat the success of their 2008 self-titled debut album.
