Back for good? The original Sugababes line-up
The original members of Sugababes have sparked fresh claims that they are set to reunite and launch a big comeback, after the girls reportedly recorded a track written by Scottish singer Emeli Sande.
Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy, who made up the original line-up for the band when it first hit the music scene in 1998, were reported to have started working on new material last month. This was later denied by Mutya.
But trio are now believed to have recorded a track called Love Like This, written by Scottish BRIT Award winner Emeli Sande, the Sunday Mirror reports.
"The song is about not being used to being loved because you have been hurt so many times before, and that you think you have been loved before but in reality you haven't," a source told the paper.
"The girls are very much back to their soulful roots but this time around it's far more innovative. They've recorded more tracks too - and they're working hard to get a body of new work."
Three major labels are aid to be interested in signing the reformed group and the girls’ new manager Felix Howard, who co-wrote their debut single Overload, is said to be planning to help them secure an album deal when they have enough material under their belts.
Keisha is also currently working on material for her debut solo album, which she is thought to be planning to release before the group’s collaborative work.
Last week the singer teased fans about her new material on Twitter, writing: “Studio!!!! Sounding sooo sick... :-D [sic].”
Meanwhile, current Sugababes singer Amelle Berrabah - who makes up one third of the new Sugababes line-up alongside Heidi Range and Jade Ewen - is also currently working on solo material, and has hinted her debut single will be called Rebel.
Her bandmate Heidi is currently appearing in Dancing On Ice, competing alongside 11 other celebrities.
