Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s baby Blue Ivy Carter has gone down in history, after making her musical debut on the hit Glory – at less than a week old.
Baby Blue’s cries can be heard at the start and end of Jay-Z’s new song, which is all about the rapper's sheer delight over the couple's bundle of joy.
Blue now goes down in history as the youngest person ever credited with gracing a Billboard chart.
Jay-Z raps about “daddy’s little girl” throughout the song, which features other lyrics including: “You’re a child of destiny; you’re a child of my destiny; you’re my child with the child from Destiny’s Child; that’s a hell of a recipe; glory, glory, glory."
Another verse contains the lyrics: “The most amazing feeling I feel; words can’t describe what I’m feeling for real; baby I paint the sky blue; my greatest creation is you."
At the start and end of the song, baby Blue's cute gurgling and crying can be heard in the background.
Proud dad Jay-Z has even credited the now-five-day-old baby on the track, using her initials B.I.C to name Blue as a contributor.
The track was released online on Monday (January 9), the same day Bey and Jay-Z officially confirmed the news of their daughter’s birth – and it’s to enter the Billboard charts at number 74 (official date January 21).
Stevie Wonder did the same thing, featuring his baby's cries and coos many years ago on his iconic song Isn't She Lovely, which he wrote for his then-newborn daughter Aisha; but his daughter wasn’t officially credited on the song, and it didn’t reach a Billboard chart until January 29 1977 – almost two years after she was born.
Little Blue was born on January 7, at the prestigious Lenox Hill hospital in New York. She was taken home – probably to her parents’ New York penthouse – on Tuesday at around 1.30am
The New York Daily News reported that the family of three travelled home in a blacked out Mercedes-Benz SUV, followed by a cavalcade of cars.
Blue Ivy is probably the most famous celebrity baby so far, and the newborn tot will want for nothing. Her parents, music superstars Jay-Z and Beyoncé, have reportedly splashed out on around £1 million worth of toys and nursery furniture – including a £400,000 solid gold rocking horse, and a a Swarovski-studded high chair and matching baby bath.
Celebrity friends of the couple, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Kelly Rowland, Kanye West and Oprah Winfrey are also said to have rushed to splash the cash on luxurious presents for the baby girl.
