Scotland’s Simple Minds are set to perform material exclusive from their first five classic albums at a Glasgow Barrowland show in February.
Jim Kerr and the boys recently featured on STV’s Scotland’s Greatest Album – see the video above for the panel’s discussion of their classic 80s hits.
They will play five songs from each of their first five albums – Life In A Day, Real To Real Cacophony, Empires and Dance, Sons and Fascination/Sister Feelings Call and New Gold Dream (81, 82, 83, 84), which celebrates its 30th anniversary next year – which were released in a prolific period from 1979 to 1982.
The Glasgow Barrowland show takes place on February 25th 2012. Tickets go on sale at 9am on 25th November, and are available from ticketmaster.co.uk or gigsinscotland.com.
Jim Kerr said: “This is the set that so many who appreciate Simple Minds have been begging us to play and finally this is that one-off chance to see it.”
The five albums have had a massive impact on the Scottish music scene at the time of their release, with their influence seen on the likes of the Manic Street Preachers and The Horrors.
