Brit Awards 2011: Justin Bieber wins International Breakthrough Act

Canadian pop teen Justin Bieber won the award for Best International Breakthrough Act at tonight’s Brit Awards.

The 16 year old singer picked up the award presented by fellow Canadian Avril Lavigne and Will Young – a strange combination!

On his way to the stage, the cheeky star stole a quick smooch with Cheryl Cole. Derek Hough will have words with you young man.

He thanked his fans and… well so many people we lost count but hey, well done Biebs!

He beat off tough competition from other musical men and women including the Glee Cast, Bruno Mars, The National and The Temper Trap.

Justin’s single Baby became and internet sensation after the video was posted on You Tube and became one of the most viewed, discussed and disliked videos on the whole site.

In 2010 Radio Clyde DJ Romeo brought the 16-year-old singer to North Lanarshire in January for an intimate gig for 40 lucky school kids at Bellshill Academy.  The pupils can count themselves luck as the young singer includes performing for President Barack Obama among his achievements.
