Ricky Martin and X Factor’s Storm Lee team up on album

X Factor reject Storm Lee won’t be too worried about his lack of success on the show after landing a spot on Latin music star Ricky Martin’s latest album.

The Scottish singer made it through to the Live Shows on this year’s series, but was quickly booted off.

But it has emerged that the now-LA-based former singer hasn’t been hiding away since his departure from the programme; instead he’s been recording vocals on not just one but four tracks on Ricky’s new album.

According to Yahoo Music, Ricky was impressed after seeing Edinburgh-born Storm’s audition on The X Factor.

A source said: "Desmond Child, Ricky's collaborator, approached Storm and set up a meeting.”  The insider added: "Storm is now singing on four of the tracks for Ricky's new album."

Not a bad way to start the new year at all. Meanwhile, Cher Lloyd has landed on her feet after big names in the music business including Simon Cowell and rapper will.i.am battled to sign her.

And this year’s winner Matt Cardle has kicked off the new year in style after enjoying a boozy Hogmanay party alongside former X Factor contestant Aiden Grimshaw, during which he reportedly racked up an £8,000 bar tab.
