Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim is making a return to his spiritual home of RockNess this summer, with the Highland music festival also confirmed another raft of dance names for its return in June.
RockNess 2013 takes place this year from Friday June 7 to Sunday 9 at Dores near Inverness.
Cook, who played the first RockNess and several times since, said of his return: “Comin’ home to baby on the shores of Dores: RockNess I’ve missed you.
“It feels so good to be heading back to see how my wayward child has grown. Roll on June, roll on The Scottish Highlands, roll on the party…”
Others now confirmed for RockNess 2013 include Above & Beyond, Madeon, Julio Bashmore, Steve Aoki, Benga, Skream, Booka Shade, Josh Wink, Pan-Pot, Jackmaster, Harri And Domenic, Gary Beck, Hans Bouffmyhre and Jaguar Skills.
Those names add more of an electronic edge to this year’s festival, which began as a dance event. Soma Records and Sub Club, two of the country’s most prolific exponents of dance, assume control of the Arcadia Afterburner and Sub Club Sound System respectively.
Those already confirmed include Example, Basement Jaxx, Madness, The Vaccines, Bombay Bicycle Club, Ellie Goulding, Ben Howard, The Maccabees, Jessie Ware, Camera Obscura and Newton Faulkner.
