Following several months on the road with Lady Gaga, The Darkness are making a return to headline touring with 2013's Let Them Eat Cakes world tour – with a Glasgow date on the cards.

The first wave of tour announcement sees the band kicking off the New Year in North America, before venturing back to the UK and Europe for February/March.

The Darkness are playing the following UK dates in March 2013:

  • Friday 1 – Sheffield – City Hall
  • Saturday 2 – Manchester – O2 Apollo
  • Sunday 3 – Glasgow – Barrowlands
  • Tuesday 5 – Newcastle – City Hall
  • Wednesday 6 – Wolverhampton – Civic
  • Thursday 7 – London – Hammersmith Apollo

Tickets for the UK dates go on sale at 9am on Friday November 9 priced at £25 (regionally) & £27.50 (London) (subject to booking fee), and are available from livenation.co.uk and ticketmaster.co.uk.

An April 2013 revisit to Australia (where they will be joined by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts for the tour), also sees the band returning to New Zealand for the first time since the Big Day Out festival in 2004.

This first round of touring (full dates below) will be the first protracted run of headline shows The Darkness has been able to undertake since the release of their third album Hot Cakes.

Including Scottish bassist Frankie Poullain, The Darkness are still currently in the midst of a worldwide tour with Lady Gaga.
