Us Scots love a good ceilidh and there’s no shortage of bands up and down the country, ready and willing to add that special ingredient to a Burns Supper or a wedding reception.
Kilter, one of Scotland’s most popular ceilidh bands, is no exception. The band has seen its popularity soar in recent months, with bookings flooding in from all corners of the globe – even as far as Marbella and Mauritius, believe or not.
The group - made up from four to eight musicians, depending on the size of event – play a range of traditional celtic melodies.
But the boys love nothing more than injecting a modern twist to their events with some funky grooves guaranteed to get you dancing. In fact the group actively encourage freestyle dancing within the ceilidh – perfect for all those exhibitionists out there!
And as well as performing at ceilidhs, Kilter are also equally at home on the festival stage, having provided pre and post match entertainment at Murrayfield for the Six Nations Rugby home games.
Although the lads are extremely busy they have kindly given up their time to perform at the STV Appeal staff ceilidh this November, with all the money raised going towards the charity, which helps Scottish children living in poverty.
