In:Demand live have announced the biggest pop gig of the summer

Radio’s In:Demand show is hosting the biggest pop night of the year this summer. In:Demand Live will feature Alexandra Burke, The Hoosiers, Diana Vickers, Alex Gardner, Basshunter and Professor Green.

Romeo, who hosts In:Demand on Clyde 1, Forth One, Northsound 1, Tay FM, West FM, West Sound FM and Radio Borders, is delighted to announce the July 31 gig.

He said: “It will be great to have all these acts that we’ve had on the show over the past year all come together in Glasgow for the ultimate pop party. ‘In Demand’ is all about the best music and the biggest acts so the live show is definitely going to reflect that. Music fans across Scotland are in for a big treat!”

The gig at the SECC will see a further 10 big music stars added to the fantastic line-up. The new names will be announced later.

Alexandra Burke, X Factor 2008 winner, has carved out her own niche of sleek and stylish pop R&B. With three top ten singles under her belt, it looks like her new release All Night Long, out on June 14, will join them at the top of the charts.

The Hoosiers, stormed the charts three years ago with their feelgood brand of fizzy pop, now the first single from their second album is out on July 26 and fans are in for something special.

Diana Vickers, is another X Factor graduate who has outperformed the “reality TV star” tag and her debut album Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree was impressive.

Alex Gardner, homegrown talent from Edinburgh, with comparisons to George Michael (voice) and Elvis Presley (looks), expectations are high.

Professor Green a.k.a  Stephen Paul Manderson is a 27 year old London rapper, originally spotted and signed up by Mike “The Streets”Skinner. Single I Need You Tonight entered the chart at number three in April.

Swedish DJ Basshunter (real name Jonas Erik Altberg) is about to release new single Saturday on July 11, he’s hoping it does as well as Now You’re Gone did.
