Susan Boyle announced on Monday that she had signed a deal to write her autobiography.
The Britain’s Got Talent star, who is set to publish her book The Woman I Was Born To Be in autumn 2010, says she hopes to show that dreams are never impossible and encourage others not to judge a book by its cover.
The unlikely superstar said: "When I strutted on to the stage for that audition, I was a scared wee lassie, still grieving for my mother, not caring how I looked.
"I think I've grown up a lot in the last year, become more of a lady, and I'm not so frightened any more.
"I'm writing this book to try to show that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover and I hope it will benefit other people.
She added: "My story demonstrates that you shouldn't just look at the label, you should look at the whole person, emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually, and I hope that telling it will show that dreams are not impossible, if you've got courage and a willingness to go on no matter what the circumstances."
The highs and lows of SuBo’s whirlwind rise to stardom:

Boyle was catapulted from her life in Blackburn, West Lothian to global adoration after wowing the world with her opening audition on last year's Britain's Got Talent where she sang the Les Miserable classic I Dreamed a Dream.
The audition and judges reaction to Susan pre-song were a lesson to all that you shouldn’t judge a book, especially when that “wee lassie” has went on to have a worldwide selling album.
Susan’s autobiography, which will be published by Transworld, will focus on her rise to stardom and the high’s and lows or her first year in the fast-paced entertainment industry.
Transworld said: "This astonishing transformation has not always been easy for Susan, faced with all the trappings of celebrity, but in the whirlwind of attention and expectation, she has always found calm and clarity in music. Susan was born to sing."
