Scottish singer-songwriter Amy MacDonald has revealed that she won’t be appearing at T in the Park this year because of her hectic schedule.
However the 22-year-old Mr Rock and Roll singer, who shot to fame in 2007, will hardly notice with the busy few months she’s got planned ahead.
Amy has just released her second album, A Curious Thing, and is playing various dates around the country as part of a small tour, after taking some time out to work on new material.
Her first album, This is the Life, proved to be a huge hit, selling around 3 million copies - but despite her success, Amy refuses to get too caught up in the hype of fame.
Speaking exclusively to stv.tv, the singer said that she likes to keep her feet firmly on the ground: “It is strange and it’s something I don’t think I’ll ever get used to, but I’m very grateful for it. I’m just very thankful I have so many incredible fans all over the world and that I’ve had such amazing support, and feel very privileged to have been given this opportunity.”
Amy added: “I just don’t think about it that much, I always try to be as down to earth as possible. I still live in Glasgow, I have the same friends I’ve always had, and I think that helps just keep me sane.”
The star, who is engaged to footballer Stevie Lovell, also revealed that she has no immediate plans to walk up the aisle because they’re both “really happy” with their situation just now.
