Quids in: Splitting the Cole's cash should be easy.
Cheryl and Ashley Cole are likely to share their £27million fortune, a report has claimed. The X Factor judge announced on Tuesday evening that the couple have decided to separate after being married for three and a half years.
The couple secured a number of lucrative sponsorship deals since their wedding in 2006.
Ayesha Vardag told the newspaper: "The courts have a duty to consider making a clean financial break between couples where this is possible.
"Given the assets said to be in this case, I would not expect Cheryl to get maintenance or any share of future earnings."
"But the court will look to an equal division of the assets acquired during the marriage and it doesn't matter who made the money."
Cheryl announced the decision to separate from the footballer following weeks of speculation.
A statement from her public relations company Supersonic PR said: "Cheryl Cole is separating from her husband Ashley Cole. Cheryl asks the media to respect her privacy during this difficult time."
