New York will host Susan Boyle’s first concert following the release of her debut album when she appears live on a ratings-topping daytime TV show. The Britain’s Got Talent singer will perform live in New York’s Rockefeller Plaza with the concert broadcast across the States by MSNBC’s Today show on Monday November 23.
The singer is appearing to promote her debut album I Dreamed A Dream which is released on the same day. The album has already set a record for the most pre-orders on amazon.com
Today’s concert series in Rockefeller Plaza has attracted some of the biggest names in music with Mariah Carey, Katy Perry and Jennifer Hudson among those who have taken the stage.
The organisers are clearly expecting a huge turnout to see the singer from Blackburn, Lothian. Fans have been advised to turn up 6am as entry will be on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. The programme is broadcast from 10am.
The show will be Susan’s first public performance in the USA. She is expected to perform her signature tune I Dreamed a Dream, as well as Wild Horses, Cry Me A River and a surprise selection.
The Today show is watched by between five and six million people across America every day and has been a staple of US daytime television for over 50 years. Susan’s appearance is likely to further boost her profile and will mark a remarkable rise to fame for the singer who was an unknown less than a year ago.
I Dreamed A Dream is expected to be the UK’s number one album in the run up to Christmas and is the bookmakers’ favourite to top the charts on December 25.
