Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt has announced she is launching a solo pop career, WENN has reported.
The singer is currently working on her solo album, which is going to be a mixture of pop and dance.
But she’s determined to fulfil her solo ambitions as well as retaining her place in the girl band.
Speaking about her forthcoming plans, she said: "It's a dance pop record and I'm so excited by it. It's not the end of the band, though. It's the foundation for all solo projects. We are all independent girls, but will always be Pussycat Dolls as well."
Wyatt recently said her role in the girl group has been overshadowed by the lead vocalist, Nicole Scherzinger, who she says has been pushed to the front by music bosses.
Scherzinger - who is also the girlfriend of the former Formula One World Champion, Lewis Hamilton – also recently announced that she was planning to go solo.
She first started recording her own solo album, Her Name Is Nicole, in 2006, but put it on hold to focus on her work with the Pussycat Dolls.
