The Prodigy have been performing in Scotland since they day they apparently lined up at T in the Park alongside Jimi Hendrix – well, according to Keith Flint anyway - so it’s no wonder they told stv.tv at RockNess they're trying to keep their renowshows fresh and live.
Gearing up to go onstage at the Highland festival, Flint said: “Rock Ness, we’re buzzing for it. Scotland for us is a real good place.
“T in the Park, we went way back in the day when it was in the tent, played with Rage Against The Machine, Hendrix and Nine Inch Nails…”
Liam Howlett said: “One of the first ever gigs we did was in Scotland, it was our third or fourth ever gig, it was Kircaldy.”
“It’s a tough crowd,” added Flint. “Not a tough hard-to-rock crowd, but they like their music tough, and that’s what we’re here to do.”
Of their headlining set at RockNess that they were soon to take to the stage to perform, Howlett explained: “We’re mixing it up. We’re playing some of the old stuff, and definitely like more or less half of the new album.
“But we’ve done a new version of Invaders, so everything isn’t exactly like it is on the record. We’ve chopped and changed it, and mixed it about.”
“That’s the beauty of it, taking music live,” added Maxim. “Some bands just do the same thing on the record, there’s no interest there is there? It is for our benefit, we like to keep it fresh and live every show.”
