Papa don't preach: Ronaldo has a little dribbler on his hands
After announcing via Facebook that he had become the proud father of a baby boy, it is now believed that the mother of Cristiano Ronaldo’s baby is an American he paid to be the surrogate.
According to Portugese newsapaper Correio de Manha, the 25-year-old Real Madrid winger hired the woman to have his first child. Daily paper Diario de Noticias claims the baby boy was born on June 17 and weighed 9lb 8oz.
It is also claimed Ronaldo has begun the paperwork to bring the boy from the US to his native Portugal, where he will be brought up by the star's mother Delores and sisters Elma and Katia.
His sister Katia told Diario de Noticias: "He's very happy, of course. Who isn't happy having children?
"The baby looks like him, although he's still very small to see what his features will be like."
Ronaldo, who previously dated a string of beauties including Hollyoaks actress Gemma Atkinson, announced his good news on Facebook on Sunday, with many initially thinking it was a hoax.
He wrote: "It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become father to a baby boy.
"As agreed with the baby's mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship."
He added no further information would be provided on the subject and asked "everyone to fully respect my right to privacy, and that of the child, at least on issues as personal as these.”
