At just 13 years old, Faryl Smith has already had a career that most singers can only dream about.
Faryl rose to fame after auditioning for the second series of Britain's Got Talent in 2008 and although she finished outside the top three in the live final on the 31 May, the youngster has gone on to forge a successful career.
It is rumoured that she signed a £2.3 million, multi-album deal with Universal Music Group and that it was the "most lucrative recording contract ever handed to a schoolgirl".
On tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent semi-final, Faryl once again took to the stage, but this time a star rather than a contestant.
She dazzled in a green prom dress as she sang a beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace.
After rapturous applause, Ant and Dec welcomed Faryl back and said she must not be nervous this time to which she replied: “I’m more nervous!” If she was, it certainly didn’t show.
The charming young lady added: “I’de like to say thank you to the show and thank you to the judges. If it wasn’t for this show I wouldn’t be here.”
Faryl Smith’s success is certainly something for the Britain’s Got Talent finalists to aspire too.
Will tonight’s semi-final winners, Stavros Flatley and Shaheen Jafargholi, be returning next year with a contract under their belts and a string of high profile performances to their name?
Time will tell…
