The world’s media has descended on the quiet Scottish town of Blackburn to try and get a glimpse of internet phenomenon Susan Boyle.
Since appearing on Britain’s Got Talent three weeks ago, Susan has become a global sensation, but what do her friends and neighbours make of her new found fame?
We caught up with them to get their thoughts on the lady who has put the town of Blackburn on the map…
Speaking of Susan’s performance on the show, friend and neighbour Ann said: “she did a bloody good job.”
Another neighbour spoke about feeling sorry for Susan when she saw the audience’s initial reaction but added: “she shut their faces, she shut them up!”
Clearly proud of Susan’s achievements, did her friends notice any change in the quiet lady when she took to the stage?
Obviously not as neighbour Debbie added; “that’s Susan, she doesn’t change.”
But how do they feel now the world is scrutinizing her every move and Boyle now has to have a minder?
Debbie added: “she's enjoying it but I think it's maybe getting a wee bit stressed for her… just let the lassie sing.”
