Ray Quinn scored a stunning 30 out of 30 to get a perfect score on Dancing On Ice.

Dancing to Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now by Starship, Christopher Dean joked that the episode’s 80s theme might be lost on the former X Factor singer.

“Ray was barely born in the 80s, so it makes us feel very old,” he quipped.

Ray had trouble in the week’s preparations perfecting the drape lift, but on the TV performance everything was seamless, though there was the question of what the judges would think.

Each of them subsequently awarded Ray the full six marks they had at their disposal, drawing gasps of delight from the crowd.

Ray was almost dumbfounded to received his first ever Dancing On Ice perfect score.

“It feels like Christmas, you know,” he said. “I’m absolutely speechless, but thank you!”

Robin commented: “It’s wonderful to have been able to push that button finally. Adding to that, the charisma and the natural performance that you give, there’s nothing contrived about it.”

Ruthie compared the performance to chocolate fudgecake, and added: “Your face came alive tonight, so proud of you.”
