Everyone was still talking about Todd Carty's mishap on the ice during last week's show, but tonight saw GMTV presenter Michael Underwood skate his final routine after being voted out of Dancing on Ice by three votes to two from the Ice Panel following a skate-off against model Melinda Messenger.
Sunday night's show saw Torvill and Dean perform together for the first time this series following Christopher Dean's return from injury.
First to skate was model and presenter Melinda Messenger with professional partner Fred. They skated to novelty record The Macarena, scoring 16.5 out of a possible 30.
Next up was Ray Quinn with pro partner Maria. Their routine was to Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal and included Jackson's signature Moonwalk. They scored 24 for what Christopher Dean described as, "a very technical routine."
Former Blue Peter presenter Zoe Salmon and partner Matt skated to Katy Perry's current hit Hot N Cold. Zoe had hypnotherapy during the week to help her overcome her nerves. They scored a total of 20 points.
Rugby legend Ellery Hanley was saved by the judges in the skate-off last week. Skating to U2's With or Without You, Ellery lifted pro partner Frankie ten feet in the air and their score of 16 was booed by a crowd who thought it should have been higher.
Coleen Nolan and pro partner Stuart skated this week to one of her old Nolan Sisters tracks I'm in the Mood for Dancing. They scored 16 out of 30. Judge Karen Barber called their performance a, "massive achievement."
Investigative reporter Donal MacIntyre and partner Florentine Houdiniere wore black and silver pinstripes. They skated to Everybody Needs Somebody to Love from the film The Blues Brothers. Judge Nicky Slater described MacIntyre's routine as, "a transformation," despite Donal falling over. They scored 16 points.
Michael Underwood and partner Melanie skated to Prince's Kiss. Michael had dropped and hospitalised Melanie during rehearsals, but they both made it through the programme unscathed to score 18.5.
Emmerdale
Todd Carty and partner Susie skated to the Police track Every Breath you Take. Jayne Torvill described their routine as, "very basic." They scored 7.5. Head judge Robin Cousins commended Todd for not falling over.
Last to skate was Liberty X singer Jessica Taylor. Jessica and partner Pavel performed to Deee-Lite's Groove is in the Heart. They scored 21.5.
Lowest in the viewers' vote were Michael Underwood and Melinda Messenger who both performed again in the skate-off. The Ice Panel voted to save Melinda by three votes to two - the closest vote in this series so far.
GMTV presenter, Michael, was given a second chance on Dancing on Ice after being forced to pull out of last year's competition with a broken ankle.
