The brother of Sir Paul McCartney has joked that in fact he is the talented one in the family, and the Beatle knows it.
At his new exhibition at the Scottish Parliament, McCartney (Mike that is), couldn’t help but jibe that he is the talented one.
“He (Paul) just knows that I’m a genius and he can’t compete,” said Mike.
While Paul was touring the world with the Beatles, Mike (McGear as he was known at the time), was in the slightly less-known group, the Scaffold.
Mike has a new photography exhibition that opened at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh on Tuesday. It features a series of snaps from the Scottish Highlands, including the Queen Mother’s Castle of Mey in Caithness.
Describing his outlook on the world of photography, the 65-year-old said: “It’s no good doing the same, you’ve got to look at life a different way.”
Mike’s exhibition will move to the ArtDeCaf Gallery in Brunswick Street, Glasgow, on February 9, before touring Scotland as part of The Year of Homecoming celebrations.
