If it hadn't been for Todd Carty's 'now you see me now you don't' escapades on Sunday night’s Dancing on Ice, Ray Quinn's stunning performance would have been the talk of the show.
Ray and skating partner Maria Filippov skated to You Make It Real by James Morrison scoring an amazing 25 out of 30.
They emerged to a fantastic reception from the audience who were clearly waiting for something special from the former X Factor contestant. And they weren’t disappointed.
Proving that his week one performance wasn’t just a one-off. Whilst the rest of the celebrities struggled with the required element, which involved using the blades and the toe picks, Ray and Maria confidently jumped and span throughout the move.
What did the Ice Panel have to say?
Jason Gardiner (scored 5): “Can I just say: our little ray of sunshine. You interpreted that entire piece with your entire being and that is what I am looking for. Other skaters, have a look at what that boy does, he totally throws himself into every routine and that is what you are up against.”
Karen Barber (scored 5) “It was stunning, the routine… You are probably now one of our best ever so far on Dancing On Ice.”
Footage of his training sessions show that Ray has massive potential, but his enthusiasm and speed on the ice also demonstrate that he could do himself - or partner Maria - some damage.
