With Burns Night just around the corner, the five thirty show’s Vicky Lee discovers some tartan fashion tips from stylist Chris at Cameron House.

This year sees the 250th anniversary of the birth of Scotland’s favourite bard, Robert Burns, and with the Homecoming celebrations aiming to break the world record for Burns Suppers, the all-important kilt is sure to be in demand.

Chris ensures us that no matter the budget, there is a kilt for everyone: “There’s things in the high street if you’re on a budget, right up to the traditional, beautiful fabrics. There’s high street to high end.”

The stylist shows a variety of kilts, demonstrating the options available to those looking for more style than the conventional outfit.

Beginning with the high end of the market, Chris displays a striking outfit from Kinloch Anderson, followed by 21st Century Kilts’ country tweed kilt. The Edinburgh based outlet can boast an elite list of customers including Hollywood stars Vin Diesel and Robin Williams.

For those watching the pennies, there is also a low-priced, high-street treat from supermarket chain Lidl, with the whole traditional outfit coming in at under £100.
