As X Factor star Ray Quinn performed his very first routine on the ice, his fellow Dancing on Ice contestants discussed their fears that he's just far too good.  In fact, he's considered to be even better than Chris Fountain - if that's possible.

Although the girls have yet to skate, the other boys in the contest have all decided that Ray is a sure-fire winner.  Holby City actor Jeremy Edwards called him "Ray the Ringer" as he watched his training in awe.  Rugby star Ellery Hanley stated that all the contestants were out of their comfort zone on the ice, before adding that Ray did seem at home in the rink.

Ray's performance certainly outshone the others in Sunday's first show, but the man himself is definitely not getting over-confident.  In fact, he's concerned that he must keep himself cool and calm to do the best that he can do.  "I can go over the top and get really excited," he said.  Oh, to have the only worry that you might do too much, rather than just being scared of falling and bruising your behind.

Michael Underwood and Donal MacIntyre have created an imaginary box which they're calling the 'Chris Fountain box' after the Hollyoaks star's fearless performances in the last series.  So far, the only inhabitant had been Chris Fountain, but he has now been joined by Ray Quinn.  "He's such a nice guy. Now I really hate him," joked Donal.

Even our rehearsal and training footage shows how relaxed and natural Ray is on the ice.  And to top it all, even outgoing contestant Graeme Le Saux had nice words to say about him.  "He's a fantastic skater.  He doesn't rub it in.  He's been really positive about everyone else, and I think that shows the sort of character he is."
