The 69th annual Golden Globes Awards took place Los Angeles last night, honouring the cream of the crop from the television and movie industries.
It was a glitzy affair, as A-list star including George Clooney, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep and Charlize Theron walked the red carpet.
Top honours went to stars including Meryl Streep, who picked up the coveted gong for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady, while Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama was won by George Clooney for his role in The Descendants.
Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical was won by Michelle Williams for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn, and Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical was won by Jean Dujardin for his role in The Artist.
Costume drama TV series Downton Abbey meanwhile scooped the coveted Best Mini-Series Or Motion Picture Made for Television.
